Gmail (Company Email)
Connect Gmail and emails you send from Journeybee go out through Gmail instead of Journeybee's default sender, so partners see a real address from your domain and replies land in a real inbox. There are two levels: one shared company address the whole team can send from, and a personal connection for each teammate who wants their own name on the message.
Where to find it: Go to Settings, then Integrations. Gmail sits under the Email section.
Who can use this: An admin connects the shared company address. After that, anyone on the team can connect their own mailbox from the same card.
Before you start
Decide which Google account is the shared sender, typically something like partners@yourcompany.com. Whoever connects it must be able to sign in to that account.
Journeybee only ever asks Google for permission to send mail and to read the address of the account you connected. It cannot read, search or delete anything in the mailbox.
Connecting the company address
Go to Settings, then Integrations, and click the Gmail card.
Click Connect. You are sent to Google to sign in.
Sign in as the shared address and approve the request.
You come back to Journeybee and the card shows a green tick. The address is now available to everyone as a sender.
Connecting your own mailbox
Once an admin has connected the company address, each teammate can add their own:
Go to Settings, then Integrations, and click the Gmail card.
Sign in with your own Google account and approve.
Your personal connection is yours alone. It does not change the company address, and nobody else can send as you.
Choosing a sender when you write
When you compose an email in Journeybee, the From dropdown lists the senders available to you, in this order:
Your own mailbox, if you have connected one. It is preselected, because it is usually what you want.
The shared company address.
The Journeybee default sender, used when no mailbox is connected at all.
See Emailing Partners for the full compose flow, and Email for the log of everything sent from your account.
What changes once connected
Emails are delivered by Google, so they carry your domain's reputation and authentication rather than Journeybee's.
Sent mail appears in the connected Gmail account's Sent folder, and replies go back to that mailbox rather than into Journeybee. Keep an eye on the shared inbox if you send from it.
Journeybee still logs the send, so you can see what went out and when.
Google's own sending limits apply to the connected account. Large marketing sends still go through Journeybee's campaign sender. See Marketing Campaigns.
Troubleshooting
The Gmail card is not clickable for me. Non-admins can only connect a personal mailbox, and only after an admin has connected the company address. Ask an admin to set it up first.
Emails still come from the Journeybee default sender. Check the From dropdown when composing, because the connected address has to be selected. If the dropdown only offers the default, no mailbox is connected yet.
Sending suddenly stopped working. Google revokes access when the account password changes, access is withdrawn in the Google account's security settings, or the token expires. Reconnect from the Gmail card under Settings, then Integrations.
Google shows a warning during sign-in. Approve the request to continue. The permissions requested are send-only.
Partners reply and nobody sees it. Replies arrive in the mailbox that sent the email. For a shared address, make sure someone is monitoring it.
Good to know
The company connection and personal connections are completely separate. Removing one never affects the other.
Journeybee cannot read your mail. The only permissions requested are to send a message and to see which address it is sending from.
Prefer Microsoft? See Outlook (Company Email), which works the same way.
For the other tools you can connect, see Integrations.
